Additional costs to factor into your conveyancing


This is an overview of the costs and fees payable to third-parties in your property transaction. As your property law and conveyancing firm, we will liaise on your behalf to ensure all required payments are made on time and correctly.

Search and Registration Fees (Disbursements)

In addition to our costs, there will be search and registration fees payable. These are amounts paid to the local Council, the Water Authority, the Land Titles Office and other Government organisations for information about the property you are selling or buying.

Fees and disbursements (excluding stamp duty on a purchase) are as follows:

  • Land Titles Office filing fee on Transfer: $222.70
  • Title search (per search): $34.00
  • Council Rates Certificate (Section 132): $51.00
  • Local Government Certificate (Section 337): $225.25
  • TasWater Land Information Certificate (Section 56ZQ – water & sewerage): $42.50
  • Administration fee on search requests (inc. GST) (per search): $2.45
  • Land tax search: $12.75
  • Schedule of Easements (if applicable) (per dealing): $34.00
  • Priority Notice: $25.67
  • InfoTrackID verification of identity: $13.75 per person

You will also have to pay a government Stamp Duty on any purchase. The Stamp Duty payable varies according to the purchase price if the property is sold by a real estate on the open market. You can click here to calculate the stamp duty payable.

The above fees will increase with periodical increases in government charges.
